Mark Greengrass

Mark Greengrass is a historian of the early modern period. He studied and completed his doctorate at Oxford and became Professor of Early Modern History at the University of Sheffield in 1997. His research focused on early modern France and the Reformation. He held visiting professorships in Pau, Paris and Tours and worked at the École des hautes études en sciences sociales (EHESS) in Paris. He was also a Fellow of the Royal Historical Society, a Visiting Fellow at Trinity College, Oxford, and a Senior Fellow at the Freiburg Institute for Advanced Studies (FRIAS).
