Marjana Gaponenko

Marjana Gaponenko was born in Odessa, Ukraine, in 1981 and studied German there. She has written in German since the age of sixteen. Her works include the novels *Who Is Martha?* (2012) and *The Last Race* (2016), as well as the play *To the Stars: A Cosmic Affaire* (2015). For *Who Is Martha?*, she received the Adelbert von Chamisso Prize and Austria’s Alpha Literary Prize.
