Marion Zimmer Bradley

Marion Zimmer Bradley (1930–1999) was an American writer. She became known in the 1960s for her fantasy novels set on the fictional world of Darkover. She achieved international success with *The Mists of Avalon*, an original interpretation of the Avalon myths inspired by Arthurian legend. The novel is regarded as her best-known work, and her Avalon novels have become classics of fantasy literature.
