Marion Deuchars

Marion Deuchars was a British author and illustrator. She was best known for the Let’s Make Some Great Art series and for books including Art Play and Colour, which were translated into numerous languages. Her books received six international awards. Her visual work earned, among other distinctions, gold and silver awards from the Art Directors Club of New York and three D&AD Yellow Pencils. Her hand lettering and illustrations appeared in campaigns for Samsung and HP, on Formula 1 posters and on Royal Mail stamps. Deuchars was a member of the Alliance Graphique Internationale and was one of six British designers who took part in the celebrations of Helsinki’s World Design Capital.
