Marieke van der Pol

Marieke van der Pol trained as an actress and worked for many years in theater and film before becoming a screenwriter. She received an award for her screenplay for the Oscar-nominated film *The Twins*. Her debut novel, *Bride Flight*, was translated into numerous languages, won the 2008 Academica DebutantenPrijs, and was adapted for the cinema with Rutger Hauer.
