Marie Louise Fischer

Marie Louise Fischer (1922–2005) was a German author. She studied German literature, theatre studies and art history, and initially worked as an editor and in advertising. She achieved her breakthrough in 1951 with the crime novel *Zerfetzte Segel*. Fischer wrote more than 100 novels and crime novels, as well as over 50 books for children and young adults. Her works were translated into 23 languages. She was married to the writer Hans Gustl Kernmayr.
