Marie Lacrosse holds a doctorate in psychology and worked for many years as a self-employed consultant, primarily in the private sector. She began her writing career under her real name, Marita Spang, publishing historical novels. Under the pen name Marie Lacrosse, she wrote, among other works, the series »Das Weingut«, »Das Kaffeehaus«, »KaDeWe« and »Montmartre«; »Das Weingut« and »Das Kaffeehaus« became SPIEGEL bestsellers.
