Marianne Kaurin (born 1974) studied at the Norwegian Institute for Children’s Books in Oslo. She made her debut in 2012 with the young adult novel “Beinahe Herbst,” which earned her the Norwegian Ministry of Culture’s debut prize and the Uprisen for Best Young Adult Book in 2013. In 2021, she received the German Children’s Literature Award for “Irgendwo ist immer Süden.” “Emil und die Prinzessin aus dem Nachbarhaus” was her first children’s book.
