Maria Ressa

Maria Ressa was born in the Philippines and moved to the United States at the age of nine. After studying at Princeton University, she worked in Asia in senior positions for CNN International in Manila and Jakarta. As an investigative reporter for CNN Asia, she specialized in terrorist networks. In 2012, she co-founded the online news organization Rappler. She received the Nobel Peace Prize in 2021 for her journalistic work.
