Margret Greiner (born 1943) studied German and history in Freiburg im Breisgau and Munich. She worked for many years as a teacher and journalist, teaching subjects including German, history, theatre and ethics. She is best known for narrative biographies of remarkable women and female artists, including Emilie Flöge, Charlotte Berend-Corinth, Charlotte Salomon, Margaret Stonborough-Wittgenstein and Elisabeth Erdman-Macke. Her books include “Auf Freiheit zugeschnitten. Emilie Flöge: Modeschöpferin und Gefährtin Gustav Klimts,” “Margaret Stonborough-Wittgenstein. Grande Dame der Wiener Moderne” and “Ich will mir selbst gehören,” about Charlotte Berend-Corinth.
