Margit Auer (born 1967) studied journalism and worked for many years as a reporter for Bavarian daily newspapers. After the birth of her three sons, she began writing children’s books. She became particularly known for the series The School of Magical Animals, whose first volume was published in 2013. Her work has received awards including the Leipzig Reading Compass, the Leseknirps and the Heidelberger Leander.
