Marcus Staiger

Marcus Staiger was born in southern Germany in 1971 and moved to Berlin after completing secondary school. He initially supported himself through various temporary jobs, including work as a cook and agency laborer, before also working as a journalist. In 1998, he founded the rap label Royalbunker, which had a lasting influence on the German hip-hop scene and helped introduce numerous rap artists. From 2008 to 2011, Staiger served as editor-in-chief of the online platform rap.de. He subsequently worked as an industrial climber and publicist. His novel “Die Hoffnung ist ein Hundesohn” was published in 2014.
