Marco Russ was born in Hanau in 1985. He began playing football for Eintracht Frankfurt at the age of eleven and remained associated with the club throughout his active career, apart from a two-year interruption. In 2016, he was diagnosed with testicular cancer, which he successfully overcame. He ended his active career in 2020.
