Marcel Sebastian

Marcel Sebastian is a sociologist whose doctoral research focused on human–animal relationships. For his dissertation, he conducted research in slaughterhouses, among other settings, examining how slaughterhouse workers deal with the daily killing of animals. He was a doctoral fellow of the Heinrich Böll Foundation and co-founded the Group for Society and Animals Studies at the University of Hamburg.
