Before beginning his writing career, he built up a television and media production company, where he worked as managing director and shareholder. His novel *Schlüssel 17* launched the thriller series featuring Detective Tom Babylon and spent several months among the top ten of the LITERATUR SPIEGEL paperback bestseller list. Raabe’s novels have been translated into more than ten languages.
