Mara Laue (born in 1958 in Braunschweig) is a German author. She began writing at the age of twelve; from 1980 onward, her short stories, poems, and nonfiction articles appeared in anthologies and fanzines. Her first book, a volume of poetry, was published in 1999. Her work includes crime and thriller fiction, science fiction, fantasy, horror, dark romance, poetry, and plays. In 2012, she received the “Tatort Töwerland” literary scholarship from the island of Juist for her crime novel “Brocksteins letzter Vorhang.” Her socially critical play “Abgestürzt” also placed in the Sauerländer Theaterstückepreis.
