Manfred Windfuhr

Manfred Windfuhr (born 1930 in Remscheid-Lennep) is a German scholar of modern German literature. From 1967 to 1969 he was professor of modern German literature in Bonn, and from 1969 to 1992 in Düsseldorf. He edited the 16-volume Düsseldorfer Heine Edition (1973–1997) and worked on volumes V and VIII. His publications include “Immermanns erzählerisches Werk” (1957), “Die barocke Bildlichkeit und ihre Kritiker” (1966), “Heinrich Heine. Revolution und Reflexion” (1976), “Erfahrung und Erfindung” (1993), “Rätsel Heine” (1997), and “Erinnerung und Avantgarde. Uwe Johnson als Erzähler” (2003).
