Manfred Bierwisch

Manfred Bierwisch was born in Halle an der Saale in 1930 and studied German literature and linguistics in Leipzig. He worked at the Central Institute for Linguistics, where he headed the Cognitive Linguistics research group. From 1993 onward, he was a professor of linguistics at Humboldt University of Berlin.
