Makoto Yukimura

Makoto Yukimura (born 8 May 1976 in Yokohama) is a Japanese manga artist. He made his debut in 1999 with the science-fiction series *Planetes*, published in the Japanese manga magazine *Morning*. Set in the year 2074, the series was translated into several languages and adapted as an anime in 2003. Another notable work by Yukimura is the Viking saga *Vinland Saga*, begun in 2005.
