Lynne Reid Banks

Lynne Reid Banks was born in London in 1929. Before becoming an author, she worked as an actress and television journalist. She wrote more than 45 books for adults and children. Her best-known works include the children’s novel *The Indian in the Cupboard*, which sold millions of copies worldwide and was adapted into a film. Her books received several awards, including the Carnegie Medal and the Nestlé Smarties Book Prize.
