Lucia Berlin

Lucia Berlin (1936–2004) was an American writer. Born in Alaska, she later died in Marina del Rey, California. She wrote 77 short stories, which were published mainly in magazines and story collections from the 1960s through the 1990s. From 1994 to 2000, she taught at the University of Colorado in Boulder. Her work gained wider international recognition after the 2015 rediscovery of the collection *A Manual for Cleaning Women*. Other notable works include *Welcome Home*, her memoir, and the collections *Was ich sonst noch verpasst habe*, *Was wirst du tun, wenn du gehst*, and *Abend im Paradies*.
