Loung Ung

Loung Ung was born in Cambodia in 1970. In 1975, she fled the Khmer Rouge regime as a child and escaped the war. She has lived in the United States since 1980. She was a spokesperson for the campaign against landmines, which was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1997.
