Louise Doughty

Louise Doughty (born 1963) is a British novelist and journalist. She has published ten novels as well as radio plays and has written for television. Her notable works include Black Water, which was named a New York Times Notable Book of the Year, and the bestseller Apple Tree Yard, adapted by BBC One. Her novel Platform Seven was also adapted for television and broadcast in 2023. Doughty’s work has been translated into around 30 languages. She has received nominations including for the Costa Novel Award, the Women’s Prize for Fiction and the CWA Silver Dagger, and her short stories and radio plays have received literary awards.
