Louis-Philippe Dalembert is a Haitian writer. Born in Port-au-Prince, he trained as a journalist and studied literature in Haiti before continuing his studies in Paris in 1986, where he graduated from the Sorbonne. Since 1993, he has published short stories, poetry, essays, and novels. His novel *Avant que les ombres s'effacent* received the Prix Orange du Livre and the Prix France Bleu/Page des libraires. *Die blaue Mauer* was nominated for the 2019 Prix Goncourt. Dalembert has also taught as a guest professor at the University of Bern and at Freie Universität Berlin.
