Louis Bromfield

Louis Bromfield (1896–1956) was an American writer. During the First World War, he worked as a journalist in France; after the war, he settled in New York and began writing. In 1926, he received the Pulitzer Prize for his novel "Early Autumn," the third volume of a tetralogy. His best-known novel, "The Rains Came," was adapted for film twice. Bromfield died in Columbus, Ohio, in 1956.
