Lisa Kaltenegger

Lisa Kaltenegger is an Austrian astrophysicist and an expert in modeling potentially habitable exoplanets. She founded the Carl Sagan Institute for the search for life in the universe at Cornell University. Her distinctions include the Heinz Maier-Leibnitz Prize for Physics, the Christian Doppler Prize, and the 2024 Lise Meitner Lecture of the German and Austrian Physical Societies. Kaltenegger served on the Astronomy and Astrophysics Advisory Committee, which advised the U.S. Congress, and collaborated with NASA and the European Space Agency. She is also known as an author and appeared in the IMAX 3-D film *The Search for Life in Space*.
