Lebrecht Jeschke

Born in 1933, Lebrecht Jeschke studied biology in Greifswald, earning his doctorate in 1962. From 1959 to 1989, he worked as a research associate at the Institute for Landscape Research and Nature Conservation in Greifswald. In 1990, he played a major role in developing the national park programme and served as director of the State National Park Office of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania from 1991 to 1998. Jeschke published numerous works on peatlands and forests. He joined the board of trustees of the Michael Succow Foundation in 1997 and became an honorary member in 2003.
