Lea Ypi

Lea Ypi, born in 1979 in Tirana, Albania, is an Albanian philosopher and political theorist. She studied philosophy and literature in Florence and Rome and has researched and taught in Paris, Oxford, Stanford, Berlin and Frankfurt am Main. Her academic career includes a professorship in political theory at the London School of Economics. Ypi is a member of the British Academy and the Academia Europaea and a Permanent Fellow of the Wissenschaftskolleg zu Berlin. Her autobiographical nonfiction work *Frei. Erwachsenwerden am Ende der Geschichte*, published by Suhrkamp in 2022, has appeared in more than 35 languages and received the Ondaatje Prize and the Slightly Foxed First Biography Prize.
