Laurence Anholt, born in London in 1959, is a writer and illustrator. He studied fine art at the Falmouth School of Art in Cornwall and at the Royal Academy in London. He has written more than 200 books in around 30 languages, including picture books and crime series for adults. His work has received numerous awards, including two Nestlé Smarties Gold Awards and the Historical Association Young Book of the Year.
