Laura McVeigh

Laura McVeigh is from Ireland and studied languages at Cambridge. She subsequently directed the Global Girls Fund, an organization promoting equality and educational opportunities for girls worldwide, and traveled to Afghanistan in that role. She later served as chair of International PEN. Her debut novel, *As the Stars Rise*, was published in numerous countries.
