Laura Marks

Laura Marks is an American playwright, screenwriter, and producer. In 2014, she became the first recipient of the PEN/Laura Pels International Foundation Award for an emerging playwright. She has also received the Lilly Award, the Helen Merrill Award, and an award from the Fellowship of Southern Writers. Her play “Bethany,” performed in Germany under the title “Betty,” won the Leah Ryan Prize. Her other plays include “Mine” and “Gather at the River.” As a screenwriter and producer, Marks has worked on television series including “Ray Donovan,” “The Good Fight,” “The Exorcist,” and “The Expanse.” She was born in Kentucky.
