Laura Lippman

Laura Lippman, born in 1959 in Atlanta, Georgia, is an American crime writer. After studying journalism, she worked as a journalist for around twenty years, including twelve years at the Baltimore Sun. She wrote the first seven novels in her series featuring investigator Tess Monaghan alongside her work at the newspaper. In 2001, she left daily journalism to devote herself fully to writing. Lippman’s crime novels, both with and without Tess Monaghan, have received numerous awards, including the Edgar Allan Poe Award.
