Lars Nowak (born 1972) is a media studies scholar who worked as a Privatdozent in Media Studies at Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg. From 2011 to 2018, he was a junior professor of Media Studies there. His academic fields of focus include American and European film history, theories of genre, narration, and subjectivity in film, as well as photography, cartography, and the relationships between media history and the history of science.
