Lars Castellucci was born in 1974. He studied political science, history and public law in Heidelberg and San Francisco, and received a doctorate in philosophy from Darmstadt in 2008. From 2001 to 2013, he worked as a project manager specializing in municipal and regional development and public participation. In 2013, he became a professor of sustainable management at the Hochschule der Wirtschaft für Management in Mannheim. He was also a member of the SPD parliamentary group and worked on matters concerning churches and religious communities.
