Lars Abromeit (born 1974 in Berlin) is a science journalist, author and filmmaker. As a GEO reporter, he accompanied scientific and environmental expeditions to rainforests, ice deserts, caves, the oceans and high mountains. His books include 166 Tage im All and Horizonte – Warum wir entdecken, both co-written with astronaut Alexander Gerst. Abromeit met Gerst during an expedition to Antarctica in 2005. His reporting and books have received several awards, including the Henri Nannen Prize and the CNN Journalist of the Year Award.
