Tobias Vogel (born 1982), known as @kriegundfreitag, has published humorous and poetic stick-figure drawings on social networks since 2017. He gained wider recognition with a chain of stick figures and an associated fundraising campaign that he created in 2018 in response to the riots in Chemnitz. In 2019, he received the Grimme Online Award in the Culture and Entertainment category; in 2020, he won the Max and Moritz Audience Award. The name “Krieg und Freitag” originated from his phone’s autocorrect, which entered “Freitag” instead of “Frieden” (“peace”).
