Kirstin Casemir

Kirstin Casemir, born in Lüneburg in 1968, holds a doctorate in linguistics. She worked as a research associate at the Göttingen Academy of Sciences and Humanities and headed the Münster-based research unit “Place Names between the Rhine and the Elbe – Onomastics in the European Context.” She also taught as a lecturer at the University of Münster’s Institute of German Studies. Her research focuses on place names, personal names, language history, etymology, lexicography, and the history of cartography.
