Kirmen Uribe

Kirmen Uribe (born 1970 in Ondarroa, Bizkaia) is a Spanish author who writes in Basque. He received the Premio Nacional de Literatura for his debut novel, Bilbao-New York-Bilbao. His work has been translated into more than twenty languages. In 2017, he participated in the International Writers’ Program in Iowa, and from 2018 to 2019 he was a fellow at the Cullman Center of the New York Public Library. His novel Das Vorleben der Delfine grew out of this fellowship. Uribe taught creative writing at New York University.
