Kim Stanley Robinson

Born in Illinois in 1952, Kim Stanley Robinson is an American science-fiction writer. He studied literature at the University of California, San Diego, and earned a doctorate on the novels of Philip K. Dick. He published his first short stories in the mid-1970s, and his first novel appeared in 1984. He is particularly known for the Mars trilogy, which began with Red Mars in 1992. The trilogy received the Hugo, Nebula, and Locus Awards. His other novels include 2312, New York 2140, and The Ministry for the Future.
