Kia Vahland

Dr. Kia Vahland is an art historian, art critic and author. Her books include monographs on Sebastiano del Piombo, Michelangelo and Raphael, as well as numerous essays on art history, including contributions to Geo Epoche. She taught at the Institute of Art History at Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich and at the German School of Journalism. In 2020 and 2021, she served as jury spokesperson for the German Nonfiction Prize. Her work has received several awards, including the Michael Althen Prize for Criticism from the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung in 2016.
