Kevin McAleer

Kevin McAleer was born in Santa Monica, California, and received a doctorate in history from the University of California, San Diego. He worked as a writer and translator. His books include the novels “Surferboy,” “Berlin Tango,” and “Postdoc,” the epic poem “Errol Flynn: An Epic Life,” and the historical monograph “Dueling: The Cult of Honor in Fin-de-Siècle Germany.” The latter was selected by Encyclopaedia Britannica as one of its “Books of the Year.”
