Kevin Kwan was born in Singapore in 1973 and moved to the United States with his family as a child. He is the author of the Crazy Rich Asians trilogy, whose books were translated into 35 languages and became bestsellers in the United States as well as SPIEGEL bestsellers. His other works include the novel Sex & Vanity (2020). Kwan was included by TIME magazine on its list of the 100 most influential people.
