Kazuaki Tanahashi worked as a master calligrapher, translator, author, poet, and visual artist. His artistic work was presented in solo exhibitions around the world. His publications include numerous books, among them works on the writings of the Japanese Zen master Dōgen (1200–1253). Tanahashi founded the “Nanjing” project, dedicated to reconciliation between Japan and China, as well as the organization “A World Without Armies”.
