Kawai Strong Washburn

Kawai Strong Washburn was born and raised on the Hamakua Coast of Hawaii’s Big Island. He studied macroeconomics at Columbia University in New York before turning to literature. His debut novel, “Sharks in the Time of Saviors,” received, among other honors, the PEN/Hemingway Award.
