Katsushika Hokusai

Katsushika Hokusai (1760–1849) was a Japanese painter and master of ukiyo-e woodblock printing. Among his best-known works is the series “Thirty-Six Views of Mount Fuji.” The woodblock print “The Great Wave off Kanagawa,” from this series, is considered one of the best-known Japanese artworks worldwide.
