Katrin Holland

Katrin Holland was the pseudonym of the German-American author Heidi Huberta Freybe, who was born in Rostock; sources give her birth year as either 1910 or 1914. In 1930, her novel “Man spricht über Jacqueline” was published under the name Katrin Holland. In 1937, Freybe emigrated to the United States via Italy and went on to publish numerous espionage and mystery novels under the pseudonym Martha Albrand, many of which also appeared in German. She received the Grand prix de littérature policière for “After Midnight” and established the Martha Albrand Award for the P.E.N. Freybe died in New York in 1981.
