Katrin Frey

Katrin Frey (born 1972) studied literary studies in Würzburg, Freiburg, Tromsø and Berlin. From 2000 onward, she worked as a literary translator, translating works by authors including Stefan Ahnhem, Karin Alvtegen, Camilla Läckberg and Håkan Östlundh. In 2011, she was one of the co-founders of the Junge Weltlesebühne, a literary platform for young readers. Her translations of Helena Hedlund’s *Kerstin ist goldrichtig* and *Einfach Kerstin* received grants from the German Translators’ Fund in 2021 and 2022. She also received the Berlin Translators’ Scholarship in 2002 and a residency grant from the Baltic Centre for Writers and Translators in Visby in 2009.
