Kathrin Hanke

Kathrin Hanke was born in Hamburg and studied cultural studies in Lüneburg. She subsequently worked in radio, wrote for newspapers, created advertising copy and worked as a ghostwriter. From 2014 onward, she worked as a freelance author. Together with Claudia Kröger, she developed the Heide crime series in 2013, featuring the investigative duo Katharina von Hagemann and Benjamin Rehder. Hanke has also published true-crime books based on historical cases and archival research. Her writing combines fictional elements with real events.
