Kathleen Winsor

Kathleen Winsor (1919–2003) was an American writer. Born in Minnesota, she grew up in California. She became known for her historical novel *Forever Amber*, published in 1944, which sold around 100,000 copies in its first week. In researching Charles II and the English Restoration, Winsor reportedly read 356 books on the subject. She died in New York in 2003.
