Katharina Mommsen

Katharina Mommsen (born 1925) was a German scholar of literature and professor emerita at Stanford University in California. She published extensively on Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, particularly on his relationship with the Islamic world. From 1958 onward, she served as editor of the foundational work “Die Entstehung von Goethes Werken in Dokumenten.”
